Premium Hua Yan's Bird's Nest

"I want to be forever young" is a phrase often heard & seen in lyrics of songs, printed tees and what not used in our basic daily conversations. Youth is often related with age and skin. Most will say age is just a number. Yes indeed it is, but often reflected on our skin. Looking good is not only about the clothes, shoes or accessories. It has to be the overall package; beautiful inside out. In this day of modern urbanization, most of us are working professionals with a tight schedule. Also not forgetting the polluted and busy city we live and work at. Hence a complete skincare regime is important to combat the hazardous pollutants &oxidizing agents that are detrimental to the skin. Besides diligently performing the 5 important steps; cleansing, toning, moisturising, applying serum or night cream & sunblock to help maintain/improve our skin, additional therapies can be included such as facials or consuming collagen to further boost the skin turnover rate.

There are so many products in the market. The question is how do we choose one that is reliable and shows positive results? There are many types of collagen products, all claiming effectiveness and fast results. However one will query about the quality and actual content of the collagen.

I was very fortunate to be given the chance to become one of the 8 lucky ambassadors for Eu Yan Sang's Premium Hua Yan's Bird's Nest 30 Days Beautiful Metamorphosis Challenge. Each ambassador will be given 30 days supply of Yen's Premium Bird's Nest. The progress of each week will be documented and shared on social media for reviewing.

Premium Hua Yan's Bird's Nest

After consuming for 2 weeks, I begin to notice the difference. My skin complexion became more radiant and smooth. There were less breakouts and skin tone became more even. It was a blessing in disguise as my skin texture improved tremendously. Yen is best taken once a day before bedtime. It contains less sugar, tasteless and easy to consume. Never take your skin for granted and care should be started at an early age.

What is so special about Premium Hua Yan's Bird's Nest? Bird's nest is a delicacy made from the salivary excretions of the swiftlet. The nest contains nutrients such as proteins, calcium and other minerals which helps in digestion, improving the symptoms of asthma and boost immune system.

This is how bird's nest looks like

Yen contains the substance called EGF(epidermal growth factor)EGF is a protein which helps to accelerate healing, enhance skin complexion and increases the rate of skin renewal on aging. In 1986 Stanley Cohen received the Nobel Prize for his work elucidating the role of the Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) in the regulation of cell growth and development. EGF rejuvenates skin by accelerating skin cell metabolism and growth, stimulates the synthesis of hyaluronic acid and glycoproteins and cell division. EGF production declines with increasing age. Hence the renewal of epidermal cells markedly slows down. Deficiency in EGF results in delayed wound healing, difficult scar healing, skin aging and formation of wrinkles, freckles and age pigment.

It's got to be Yen!

Happy and satisfied with my progress

The final week of the 30 days challenge

I was very satisfied with the results after a month's supply of Yen. Not only did my skin became firmer but also more radiant. This was followed by a photo shoot for marketing and advertising purposes.
It was exciting doing a photo shoot for the first time. But little did I know, it was a long and tedious process for both the photographers and the models. Many shots were taken just to get the one right photo. I enjoyed the whole journey and was treated like a celebrity.

I do look different especially the hair :)

Thanks for giving me the opportunity Yanni :)

Photo shoots can be fun though tiring and long. I must admit I was shy and nervous at the beginning. After numerous photo shots, the client decided to pick the one to be featured in printing advertisement and magazines.

It was a great experience to be part of this project. I learnt a thing or two about bird's nest and all the benefits it provides. Thank you Eu Yan Sang for giving me this opportunity.

Anya Hindmarch Counter Culture Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection

Fashion these days is all about innovation and creativeness. Afterall, celebrities are often regarded as frontliners & trendsetters in the industry since they are given the privilege to view the latest collection by a particular designer. Once they are spotted wearing a particular design, there's where the trend starts to sip in. Are you the type that follows the latest trends or simply be your own stylist? I must say I'm a risk taker and would do both. It will always be fun to play mix & match and you'll be surprised with the end result.

Anya Hindmarch has always been one of my favourite designer brands. With it's sophisticated designs and trademark ribbon logo, it has been with us in Malaysia for 10 years and still counting. The brand originated from London and is gaining worldwide recognition. From the likes of Olivia Palermo (fashion blogger & celebrity), Poppy Delevinge ( British supermodel) to Alexa Chung (London's fashion icon) were spotted at the front row at London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014. The collection is very unique and revolves around the household & childhood memories. Counter Culture is the theme for the collection. And I'm sure you'll agree with me that it's pretty quirky & one of a kind. Who would have thought our infamous household necessities from washing powders to breakfast cereals to digestive biscuits would take center stage and become the highlight for the season? Remember Tony the Tiger, Kelloggs Cornflakes & Cocopops? The feel good breakfast cereal brand that kept us awake & energized? Models were seen walking down the runway in supermarket conveyor belts showcasing the latest designs and making grocery shopping seem effortlessly chic and trendy. Also, there were lots of tassels and colours to play with. Afterall, who says autumn/winter has to be all dull and depressing? A fusion of colours and exquisite craftmanship represents the collection. The crisp packet clutch is another highlight worth mentioning. Made infamous by celebrity singer songwriter, Solange Knowles at the MET Gala. It comes with a detachable chain strap which can be worn across the body or on the shoulder. It is specially crafted with the finest workmanship from a group of renowned Italian artisans. These are some of the highlights for the season, not forgetting the classics, such as the featherweight ebury, maxi zip satchel, the albion and the crazy belvedere.

Anya Hindmarch Malaysia threw a private luncheon for the media, VIPs and invited guests to view the Official Launch of Counter Culture Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection at Hilton KL recently. I was invited and amazed by everything, from the backdrop to the props and presentation. As I walked into the ballroom, I was greeted by Tony, the tiger beaming with excitement. :)

Who can resist a pose with our friendly tiger? :)
